Jeremiah 29:11 “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”
As the class of 2021 reaches the end of their journey here at Cardinal Mooney, let’s discuss how the Lord is going to be their number one support system during this transition.
During this new phase, it can seem as though we are going through life alone. It might feel like no one is there with us as we walk to our classes, rush through the dining halls, study in the quietest of libraries or sit in our dorms looking for something to do.

We may even question everything. But what we need to understand is that God has a plan for us. Every little thing has a reason for being there in our lives. Some of the hardships we experience can hurt us in ways unimaginable, but they happen for a reason.
Just as the verse says, the Lord wants us to prosper―not perish. He wants us to succeed in every way possible. And in order to do that, we need to understand that He is with us 24/7. I know it can be very difficult to believe that God is by our side from the moment we wake up to the moment we fall asleep. When troubled times come hurtling toward us, we cannot help but question why He did not stop it from getting close to us. |
Why did He not protect us from what could have demolished our spirit? The reason is because He should not block us from being knocked down. There is a purpose behind the meteor heading toward us. We need to be knocked down in order to get back up again.
To the seniors, always remember that the Lord is with you. You might be ten thousand miles away from home, but he will be there right by your side. To the underclassmen, next year you will be transitioning into a new schedule. Remember that He is with you as well. I know that there will be challenges, but be patient and kind, and the Lord will reward you.
