Ohio endures all seasons; however, students and faculty alike can agree that fall is one of the best seasons for its aesthetics and fashion.
In a survey conducted of over 40 students, 58.5% responded that fall was their favorite season overall. The reason why is clear. Senior Natalie Femia reminisces about the memories of Halloween and fall. “I love fall vibes though: football, and the colder weather, and better clothes!” Femia said. “It just stinks that I always have basketball that day [Halloween] because it's not the holiday you get off school from, so I never really get to celebrate it.” Even some students, like senior Grace Raymer, who have a stronger taste for summer, can agree that fall is incredible. |
“Take away school, and it’s probably the best season of the year,” Raymer said.
Fall tramples all other seasons due to three factors: aesthetic, fashion, and Halloween.
There is nothing better than the leaves changing from green to the vibrant hues of red, orange, and yellow. Something about carved pumpkins, crunchy leaves, and candles just brings peace. 68.3 percent of survey respondents agree — fall has the best aesthetics.
The fashion of fall is also a survey favorite. The jeans, sweaters, long sleeves and corduroys never fail to make anyone look fashionable. However, there is one event that sets fall above the rest. Halloween is the second most popular holiday according to our survey. There is absolutely a good reason for this. Halloween, first, is one of the only ‘friend’ holidays. It’s a fantastic holiday to hang out with your best pals and gorge on candy. Second, Halloween is the only day where you can dress as anything you would like, and it is fully excused. Dying to wear pajamas to school? You can be a baby! Want to dress in a ballgown? You can be a princess. Third, Halloween is the perfect excuse to sit down and watch scary movies. Thrillers can leave a group laughing or screaming, but always wanting more. No matter what your favorite season is, we can all agree that fall has some of the strongest redeeming qualities of any. |
